A yacht went down in the Strait of Gibraltar because of a group of orcas. The incident also caused serious damage to the yacht, including numerous leaks. The yacht’s sinking was also the captain’s fault. During the entire time that they were on board their vessel, the crew of the Grazie Mamma was under the illusion that they were being assaulted from below. All the time they were there, they thought something like this was happening. This feeling persisted throughout their entire stay at the problematic site. Totaling 45 minutes and 15 seconds, the duration of this feeling was exceptionally long. A pod of orcas had their eyes set on the yacht’s rudder when it sailed through the Strait of Gibraltar a week previously, and they collided with it on multiple occasions. The following week was much the same. The boat came to an abrupt and total stop as a result of this. Significant damage was inflicted onto the hull of the yacht, and leaks were identified throughout the entirety of the vessel, as a direct result of the activities carried out by the orcas.
The rescue team was able to accomplish its mission, and all of the crew members were safely transported back to the port at Tanger-Med, which is located on the coast of Morocco. The fact that their ship had capsized and sunk beneath the surface of the ocean was the root cause of their predicament. The situation they found themselves in was exactly like this. The Warsaw-based travel agency Morskie Mile, which oversaw the vessel, has promised that it will do everything in its power to ensure that future excursions to the Canary Islands proceed without incident. The organization was in charge of the ship’s maintenance. When there was an accident with the boat, the activities for this week got off to a rough start right away.
More than a week has passed since the most recent of a string of “attacks” in the rivers that physically separate southern Europe and northern Africa. The rivers that act as a physical barrier between southern Europe and northern Africa have been the sites of these episodes. These “attacks” on the waterways have become more common in recent months. Even though orcas have been falsely blamed for multiple “attacks” in the past, they have received special attention after recent events. This is due to the fact that these events just recently transpired. Since the year 2020, there have been roughly 500 incidences in which orca whales and boats have come into touch with one another while both types of vessels were going through the water. These incidents occurred while both types of vessels were in motion. At least three vessels have been attacked, but no free-ranging human has ever been confirmed to have met their untimely demise at the hands of an orca. Despite at least three vessels being damaged, this remains the case.
Scientists have put in a lot of time and effort to figure out what’s going on by investigating the root causes of this behavior. That way, they can get a clearer picture of what’s happening. They’ll have a clearer picture of what’s going on with it after this is done. Researchers have hypothesized a few possible explanations for the whales’ antics; one suggests they are simply playing around, while another suggests they may enjoy the feel of the rudder. Both of these theories are products of the researchers’ labors. The researchers looked at both of these scenarios to see which could be more credible. Both hypotheses were proposed by the researchers actually doing the study. Renaud de Stephanis, president and coordinator of CIRCE Conservación Information and Research in Spain, claims that when these creatures spot a sailboat without its engine running, they grow upset and do damage to the rudder. These remarks were made by Stephanis. The Center for Information and Research in Conservation (CIRCE) is located in Spain. We are very grateful to Renaud de Stephanis for sharing this with us. If you’re curious about who said it, it was Renaud de Stephanis. It’s also possible that the animal is acting this way as retaliation for terrible things that have happened to it at the hands of fishing boats in the past. If so, the animal’s actions are likely a form of retaliation for what it perceives as wrongdoing. This theory could be useful in explaining the animal’s behavior under the current settings. This extra explanation is one example of what might be considered a potential for the behavior. This is just one example of a scenario that could be seen as a possibility.
